Website Redesign
Most people do not want a redesign. They want the site to stop letting them down. It loads slowly, it looks wrong on a phone, it is a nuisance to update, or it simply looks older than the business does now.
A redesign is not starting again. The pages that bring in traffic, the content you wrote, the links other sites point at you, all of that is worth keeping. The work is deciding what to keep, what to fix and what to throw out.
What is included
- An honest look at what is actually wrong, before any design work
- A plan covering what stays, what changes and what goes
- Your existing content moved across rather than retyped
- Redirects so your current pages do not become dead ends
- A build you can update yourself without calling us
What you get
- A site that loads fast and behaves properly on a phone
- The search visibility you already have, kept
- Fewer people leaving before the page appears
- WordPress
- WooCommerce
- Shopify
- Astro
- Search Console
Where you are starting from
Wix or Squarespace. These are decent tools and there is no snobbery here. They are also where a lot of businesses find a ceiling, whether that is page speed, a template that fights you, or something you now need to do that the platform simply does not do. Moving off is a normal step rather than an admission that you got it wrong.
An older WordPress site. The most common case by some distance. A theme bought years ago, a dozen plugins, three of which are doing something nobody remembers. Often the content is fine and the machinery underneath is the problem.
Something somebody else built. A developer who moved on, or an agency that stopped replying. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth saving, because sometimes it is.
What happens to your search rankings
This is the question worth asking and the one most people only think of afterwards. A redesign done carelessly loses traffic, sometimes a lot of it, because the addresses of your pages change and nothing tells Google where they went.
We map every existing page to its new home before launch and put permanent redirects in place. Anything genuinely being retired points at the most relevant surviving page rather than at the homepage, because an irrelevant redirect is read as a dead end and wastes whatever that page had earned.
Expect a small dip for a few weeks while it settles. That is normal and it recovers. A large permanent drop is not normal, and it is avoidable.
When a redesign is the wrong answer
Sometimes the site is fine and the problem is somewhere else. If the design is decent but nobody is finding you, that is a search and content problem, and rebuilding the thing will not fix it.
If the complaint is that it is slow, the cause is often enormous images that were never resized and a stack of tracking scripts nobody audits. That is a day of work, not a project.
We will say so when that is the case. It is a smaller invoice and an honest answer, which is worth more than talking you into a rebuild you did not need.
